Salt 'n' Pepa were so dope back in the day. They had flow that rivaled any of the male mc's, but they were very aware of their femininity, which was almost unheard of back then. I heard a mix on the radio today, and I felt the waves of nostalgia rush over me. Stacked & layered asymmetrical bobs, bamboo earrings, over-sized salt-n-pepa jackets, biker shorts...to this day I know all of the words to my favorites. "My Mic Sounds Nice", "Tramp", "Everybody Get Up", the list goes on... we mastered all the dance moves in their videos, and it was extra fly when we caught cameos of Kid 'n' Play doing their thing... Remember "Shake Your Thang (featuring EU)" ? The go-go drums are ridiculous! Enjoy...

Marvin Gaye: We Miss You!!
What a gorgeous man! Not only was he beautiful, but his music was soulful & spoke of real social issues. The same issues that apply today...How can that be?? And even though we were dealing with so many injustices, we still knew how to enjoy ourselves. We played outside, we loved, we LIVED! We had Community... Simply Beautiful....
Al Green’s songs are timeless, soothing , and sexy as hell! Although this one was released a couple of years before my time, I still remember this soulful-ness wafting through the air as a youth....
